Rad Myco is a family-friendly celebration of mushrooms, lichens, and the people who love them. The event is unique among mushroom-focused events due to its blend of science, art, friendly competitions, and diverse community-building moments. Hundreds of local and international outdoor enthusiasts and creatives come to the 40-acre farm hosting the event to engage in mushroom-centered performances and creative events alongside dozens of workshops covering food production, natural sciences, sustainable living, alternative healthcare, and much more.

  • Founded in 2011 by Portland-native, author, and renowned mycologist Peter McCoy.
  • 2024's gathering is the seventh iteration of the biennial event.
  • A big emphasis is placed on the art, culture, and fun of mycology, alongside the science of identifying and growing mushrooms.
  • Runs Sept. 26–29, 2024 at Brown Bottle Farm in Mulino, Oregon.
  • Over 40 workshops by 27 teachers from Palestine, Japan, Ireland, and across North America.
  • Mushroom-themed competitions: 2024 MycOlympics, Spores & Stains Culture Exchange, MyCostume Competition.
  • Over 40 international artists in the art exhibition, In/Visible Signals: Cold Fire.
  • 2024 theme is "Recompose and Catalyze," with fire-associated Anthracobia species being the mascot of this idea. Murals and art installations based on this theme will provide interactive spaces for attendees to engage with.
